Animal Adjectives Worksheet (Beginner ESL/EFL)

Worksheet for Teaching Basic Adjectives that Describe Animals

Worksheet Level: Beginner

Worksheet Description: This is a simple animal adjectives worksheet I created. I made it for the grade 3 & 4 students in the Japanese school I teach at. It's nothing special, but if you can use it, then be my guest.

Animal Adjectives: big, small, fast, slow, strong, dangerous, cute

Execution

  • first teach animals names. The most common method is probably to use animal flashcards. Find them online.
  • then ask your students "What animals are BIG?" Brainstorm with them. Make a list on the board for each adjective.
  • give the worksheets to the students and have them write the name(s) of animals that can be described by each adjective in the correct box.
  • when finished, check their answers. You could also get them to form a line (or stand up) and ask each student to make one or two sentences from their sheet. For example, ask "T: What animal...is dangerous? S: (The goat is dangerous. / Goats are dangerous)."

Although the worksheet is an image, feel free to edit the animal adjective worksheet if you wish.

Hey, Thanks a bunch for the list. My only suggestion is to include ‘tasty’ as an alternative adjective :)
